It's great to be a part of Whittier! I've met many wonderful families and am impressed by the fabulous children I get to work with this year. When I'm not at school, I'm usually kayaking, biking, or visiting the many beautiful places in the North Sound area, or playing with my crazy fitness hobby, the hula hoop! I live in Lake Stevens with my fiance, and I have a 20 year old daughter and a 17 year old son. She lives in Everett, and enjoys crocheting, and spending time with her young nieces and nephews. Jordan is completing her degree in Elementary Education from Western Washington University with an emphasis in Special Education. This year I have the pleasure to welcome Jordan Stalkfleet as my student teacher through December. Second grade is such a great year for discovery and growth. My favorite thing about this job is the diversity of students I get to share a year of learning with. I earned my Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis on Math Communication from the University of Washington. Prior to Whittier, I taught overseas in South Korea and Egypt, in New Mexico, at Silver Firs and Hawthorne Elementary in Everett. This is my 27th year teaching and my sixth year teaching second grade at Whittier Elementary.
